Salamandre Rouge

This is a dark, organic red made for easy drinking with depth. Grown on the stony, galet-strewn soils of the southern Rhône near Nîmes, the Syrah grapes are harvested and then fermented with native yeasts; after a gentle three-week maceration they are left to rest on their lees in cement vats for two weeks — minimal intervention, maximum character. The result: a juicy, medium-to-full bodied red with ripe black fruit, violet florals, a touch of pepper and a smoky, earthy undercurrent — smooth tannins, good freshness, perfect for grilled meats, charcuterie or hearty stews.
